The School of Business is seeking qualified candidates to teach courses in our Healthcare Administration MBA program, commencing in Summer or Fall 2024.

As an adjunct faculty member, you will contribute to the growth and development of our students by providing online synchronous or asynchronous instruction. Online synchronous courses typically require faculty to be available on one weekday evening per week.

Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in healthcare, business, or a related discipline is required; a doctoral degree is preferred.
  • Relevant work experience in the healthcare industry or in a business discipline, such as accounting, economics, finance, management, or marketing, is required.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
  • Prior online teaching experience is preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience using Canvas is preferred.

Required Knowledge/Skills

  • Ability to effectively teach Accounting for Healthcare Professionals, Healthcare Marketing, Economic Evaluations in Healthcare, Healthcare Finance, Healthcare Organization and Delivery, and/or Healthcare Capstone/Strategy. Click here to view the course descriptions.
  • Ability to instruct students with varying educational backgrounds and abilities.
  • Familiarity with legal, regulatory, and ethical issues in healthcare.
  • Familiarity with educational assessment practices.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or similar) applications.

Essential Functions

  • Develop syllabi that address student learning objectives and that include formative and summative assessments.
  • Create and maintain an online course site in Canvas and follow best practices described by Molloy’s Office of Blended and Online Learning.
  • Deliver instruction online that includes responsive and substantive interaction with students.
  • Maintain competence in subjects being taught.
  • Collaborate with the Dean, Associate Dean, and/or Program Director in instructional planning and delivery.
  • Demonstrate collegiality and professionalism in interactions with colleagues, students, and administrators.
  • Adhere to faculty and program policies outlined by the School and the University.

SALARY INFORMATION

When determining the salary offer for a new employee, Molloy considers several key characteristics such as discipline specific knowledge, skills, education and experience as well as internal and external equity. The hiring salary range for this position is $1,130.00 per credit (Undergraduate Instructor) to $1,280.00 per credit (Graduate Assistant Professor). This hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation at the time of posting.
