Security Guard

Full-time/Part-time Security Guard

Shift: 430pm-1130pm, 11:30pm – 8:00am

Mon Valley Care Center is a 60 bed skilled nursing facility/41 bed personal care home located near I-70/Rt. 43 in Monongahela. The security guard is to maintain security for facility buildings and grounds.

The security guard is responsible for:

• Completing necessary forms and reports.
• Reporting maintenance concerns observed during rounds throughout the facility.
• Assuring visitors sign in and out after 4:30pm and throughout the day on weekends and holidays.
• Monitoring employees returning to facility after working hours.
• Performing a security walk through facility every hour according to a schedule.
• Reporting all unlocked doors on Daily Guard Report
• Documenting all incidents.
• Locking entrance and exit doors at the assigned times.
• Provides shift report to officer on next shifts (turn over keys and cell phone).
• Handling emergencies (i.e., rescheduling work assignments and work schedules, etc.) efficiently.
• Ensuring Mon Valley Care Center facilities and property are secure and free of dangerous or suspicious situations.
• Moves intermittently during working hours.
• Is subject to frequent interruptions
• May be asked to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when schedules or necessary.
• Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
• SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess a basic knowledge of security procedures, regulations and current applicable laws, as well as procedures to follow during emergency conditions.
• Must possess the ability to notify the proper authorities when circumstances warrant such action in an emergency situation.
• Must possess ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, Government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must be a minimum of (18) years of age.
• Must be well groomed, have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
• Operates the fire alarm system.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to lift (25) pounds.
