What does the Social Media Intern do?
We are looking for someone who is incredibly social media savvy with an entrepreneurial spirit. Your main goal will be to create engaging content and help Monica Andy continue to build their brand voice on social. You must have a go-getter attitude, not be afraid to present new ideas, and feel comfortable working cross-functionally and with our Founder, Monica Royer. This is an amazing opportunity to further establish who Monica Andy is on social!
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm ideas to help organically grow Monica Andy’s social presence
- Scour social for the latest trends and stay up to date on the latest features
- Shoot and edit new, thoughtfully curated content each week to be leveraged organically and through paid social campaigns
- Capture content at Monica Andy’s office, Guideshops and at events to tell a greater brand story
- Partner with marketing team to analyze performance KPIs and optimize content
- Package influencer gifts and fulfill sample requests
- Assist marketing team is outsourced content development, including sourcing creators, sending hooks/scripts, requesting edits and packaging final assets
- Partner with marketing and creative teams to source website imagery, including outlining product assignments, inspiration for creators, and timelines

- You love Instagram and TikTok! And have a strong understanding of what drives success on the platforms
- Excited to pitch new ideas and love thinking outside the box
- Ability to shoot and edit engaging/trending content
- Looking for a hands-on internship/role where you can take real ownership and make meaningful impact
- Confidence working with C-level executives and marketing team on ways to grow Monica Andy’s social presence
Requirements
- 30-40 hours per week (flexible depending on candidate needs)
- Must be located in Chicago and be able to work in-person at our office and Guideshop in Lincoln Park 2-3 times per week, or as needed
- Must be able to share portfolio examples of social media videos you have created for your personal account or for a brand
- Entrepreneurial mindset; be able to create content with minimal supervision
