TITLE: Student Service Provider (Edustaff Contracted Service)
REPORTS TO: Building Administrators
JOB GOAL: To focus on social and academic needs of identified at-risk 31a students in accordance with the goals of the building school improvement plan regarding targeting students for academic improvement in the core content areas of math, language arts, and science.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or higher
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Positive student and family advocate.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The major responsibility of the 31a Student Service Provider is to assist identified 31a students in overcoming barriers to achievement in math, language arts or science.
- The 31a Student Service Provider should meet regularly with the building administrator to keep him or her informed of the status of 31a students that are being served.
- The 31a Student Service Provider, whenever possible, should serve on the Student Achievement Team to assist with implementation of behavior plans and supplementary academic interventions for identified 31a students brought to the team.
- The 31a Student Service Provider will document interventions that they utilize and indicate progress on a routine basis.
- The 31a Student Service Provider will organize 31a student support groups as aligned with building needs identified in the School Improvement Plan.
- The 31a Student Service Provider will utilize the district Activity Log for grant funded personnel to record time and services as allowed under 31a guidelines. Due to the nature of the 31a Student Service Provider responsibilities, it is understood a flexible schedule is the most efficient mode of operation. Such a schedule allows for implementation of extended day support to 31a students.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports 31a students in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
- Assists 31a students in developing problem solving, social and academic skills.
- Connect 31a students to internal and external resources that support academic learning.
SCHOOL STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate, when necessary, with other professional staff members involved in the academic progress of identified 31a students to assure that interventions are aligned with the academic needs of the students.
- Provide classroom teachers with information both verbally and in writing, when necessary, that will assist them in meeting the academic, emotional and social needs of 31a students that are receiving this supplemental support.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten month year. Part-Time/Contracted Service, 25 hours/week, $21.50-$24.50/hour
