What are the responsibilities and job description for the CPE Coordinator position at Montana Society of CPAs?
The Montana Society of CPAs is looking for a detail-oriented people person to join our three person staff. We are a small, but mighty, team looking for a person to help us continue to fulfil our mission to inspire, empower, and impact our members to achieve professional excellence.
This role coordinates our Continuing Professional Education (CPE) program. Our members are required to obtain CPE credits to maintain their licenses. We provide them with courses to both meet their requirement and prepare them for their career goals. Currently we offer a mixture of in person and virtual courses. The successful candidate will bring a mixture of these four skills:
1. Service: as an organization we pride ourselves on providing excellent service. We do not have a huge budget, so we must be creative in how we WOW our members.
2. Organization: you will be responsible for making sure all the i’s are dotted and t’s crossed. This is a mixture of event planning and database management.
3. Negotiation: this role works with CPE vendors and hotels to put on events. It is critical to be able to work with our partners to make sure everyone is treated fairly.
4. Networking: you will need to develop relationships with our members and other partners. As a small team we need to leverage our contacts to make things happen.
If you made it this far and are interested, let me tell you a little more about us. Being a small team, we all work together to achieve our goals. We default to yes and value creativity in being able to deliver to our members. The focus is on what we deliver, not on how or when we do the work. Need to work an alternative schedule or want to work remotely? We can figure it out.
We offer a full benefit package including health, life, and disability insurance and contribution to retirement with no need to match. Our office closes at noon on Fridays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s. This role will have some instate travel to events and we typically attend a conference or two as a team each year within country travel.
