Summary of Responsibilities:
Montauk Renewables, Inc. is hiring a Sales & Use Tax Analyst that is analytically minded, multi-tasking, highly organized who will be responsible for maintaining the Sales & Use Tax compliance process notices. Additional responsibilities include account reconciliations, state sales, and use registrations and other tax-related tasks. This position will require the incumbent to communicate with procurement and various other departments to create a streamlined process so that all invoices are reviewed for the proper tax exemption status. This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and will work in a weekly hybrid environment with some in-office and remote capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of sales and use tax procedures company wide. Including working with A/P and other parties related to sales and use tax to establish company wide policies.
- Ensure all sales and use tax filings are completed accurately and all filing deadlines are adhered to.
- Assist Tax Manager with Sales and Use Tax audits including data collection, documentation, liaison with auditor.
- Research various states sales and use tax guidelines and requirements for exemption.
- Manage Tax Exemption Certificates.
- Amend Sales & Use tax returns as needed
- Prepare accrual for use tax account reconciliations and journal entries
- Ensure timely and effective resolution for tax notices.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting procedures and practices.
- Other ad hoc sales and use tax related activities as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, and tax research software.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 360 experience is preferred.
- At least 4 year of sales and use tax experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
