Description
Performs a variety of tasks which relate to the transfer of information concerning patient diets meals selections, preferences and complaints, Assists the department in the clerical aspects of preparation for patient meal service through accurate menu processing and assisting patients with menu selection. Acknowledges customer and responds quickly to customer needs. Telephone courtesy and patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times. When completing telephone calls or patient visitation, will refer to written scripts for appropriate greeting and content. Answer questions within your scope of practice and refer other questions to the appropriate person. Will demonstrate a high level of customer service and hospitality over the phone.
Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Prior food service experience preferred. Related experience or education demonstrating knowledge of normal and modified diet and the Carbohydrate Counting and Protein Exchange Systems. Must have strong customer service skills; hospitality experience required. Keyboard and computer skills are required. Knowledge using Health Touch Food Delivery Program preferred. Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner. Will frequently use a computer, calculator, writing utensils, telephone including hands-free headset, copy machine, answering machine and files. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to communicate and interact with other departments. Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette skills are required.
