Position Summary
The primary purpose of the CT Tech is to provide technical and specialized skills in the performance of CT procedures in the Emergency Room. Ensures a safe environment and communicates with all of the staff to ensure high quality diagnostic procedures are performed.
Responsibilities
- Performs CT scans and Xrays on patients;
- Prepares patients for Xray/ CT scan, explains procedures, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the Xray/ CT scan, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan.
- Responsible for the provision of high-quality exams while working in a dynamic, complex team oriented highly productive patient care environment.
- Responsible for the quality assurance activities technical equipment and collaborates with appropriate parties to resolve image quality issues.
- Identifies and reports any accidents, complains, or equipment malfunction.
- Takes emergency call within the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor/department director.
- Maintain patient care areas with appropriate supplies.
- Assist with patient restraints and maintain precautions; collect, report and document data related to patient needs/emergencies and unusual patient and family behavior.
- Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required.
