Mood Media Corporation is a leading in-store media specialist that uses a mix of music, visual and scent media to help its clients communicate with consumers with a view to driving incremental sales at the point-of-purchase. Operating through its two principal divisions; In-Store Media and Retail Point-of-Purchase; Mood Media Corporation works with more than 800 retail chains in more than 40 countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
About the role:
The role sits in the International head office in London and is a key contact for finance teams across the globe. The role reports to and works closely to support the accounting team of Mood International. The ideal candidate is someone that can:
- Be responsible for all operational costs & associated balance sheet accounts of Mood International
- Eager to learn and build a strong understanding of the business
- Able to clearly articulate the monthly results to the senior accounting team
- Have a proven ability to drive process improvement across the accounting function
- Be a mentor to junior members of the team
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the timely reporting of the P&L and balance sheet
- Monthly trended analysis of operational and non-operational costs
- Maintenance of key balance sheet reconciliations (accruals, prepayments, fixed assets etc)
- Supporting the year end audit process
- Preparation of key management information
- Work with our external tax partner to ensure VAT and Corporate tax returns are submitted on time
- Management of 2 FTE, including the mentorship of the individual while they seek to become a qualified accountant
- Take the lead on ad-hoc company initiatives and process improvements
- Support the wider team to reduce the month end close timeline
Skills & qualifications:
- Qualified accountant
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Media sector experience - desirable
- Experience in Oracle ERP – desirable
