The Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) Surveillance team is hiring an Analyst to join the team in New York. The CMBS Surveillance team monitors ratings structured securities backed by Commercial Real Estate (CRE) mortgage loans. The team also produces significant in-depth research on credit issues important for the both the CMBS / CRE CLO sectors and the overall CRE industry.
The Analyst will analyze the credit aspects of CMBS transactions, including property cash flows, deal-level financial modeling, and the formulation and substantiation of credit opinions. They will be expected to serve as the Lead Rating Analyst for transactions, present transactions to rating committees, communicate their analysis during internal meetings, and write accurate and insightful press releases. They will review deals from a variety of vantages and perform in depth cash flow and valuation analysis of both performing and defaulted loans. They will also manage the communication process and information flow with various transaction parties.
In addition to CMBS Surveillance, the Analyst will have the opportunity to contribute to the rating analysis for CRE CLO transactions. They will also work on various special research projects, develop in-depth knowledge of the CMBS sector, and pursue thought leadership initiatives to enhance our analytics and research impact.

- 4 years of professional experience in the commercial real estate sector and/or CMBS
- Experience in structured finance is a plus, but not required
- Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or a related field
- Highly proficient analysis skills (quantitative, qualitative)
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate closely with others as well as independently to produce accurate, detailed work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks with a high degree of accuracy and timely delivery
