Moog Spacecraft is seeking a Cost Accountant to support our Spacecraft Accounting team in Arvada, CO. The spacecraft enterprise is a business unit within Moog Space and Defense Group designs, develops, produces, and tests spacecraft buses. In this role the successful candidate will manage the Avionics, Power and Wiring Team for the spacecraft business unit

The Cost Accountantreports to the AP West Site Finance Manager in the Space and Defense Group. This individual will be responsible for the preparation, reporting, and forecasting for the site. In addition, this individual will provide financial support to various initiatives and projects across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the monthly and quarterly close
• Prepares journal entries, management reports, and EAC reports
• Monitoring direct labor utilization and indirect rate performance vs. targets
• Monitor and advise on financial reporting and program cost controls.
• Preparation of customer progress payments and cost-plus monthly billings
• Reconciliation of customer advances and progress payments to the GL
• Assists Corporate Accounts Receivable personnel in their collection of unpaid invoices
• Support functional areas with required data for quotes/estimates
• Support internal/external audits
• Assist in the Group’s annual budget process, and will be involved in developing departmental budgets and profit and loss statements and balance sheets
• Support ad hoc/special projects as requested

Minimum Requirements to be considered…

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Working knowledge in Financial and US GAAP principles
• Experience building strategic working relationships
• Proficient Excel skills
• Minimum two years of related experience in accounting
• This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.

This position will be filled at a salary level dependent upon the selected candidate’s education and experience as it relates to the position.

Negotiations start at $55k per year
