IT HELPDESK SPECIALIST
The Information Technology Help Desk Specialist reports to the I.T. Vice President & Security Officer of the IT Department in the MWG Corporate Division. The position a nonexempt, hourly role, located at within all offices of MWG. Based locally at headquarters in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The I.T. Help Desk Specialist provides IT support and customer service to all MWG employees, including remote offices. They perform a variety of task including but not limited to maintenance, software installation, troubleshooting and repairs, and technical training. To perform the job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Responds to and provides technical assistance and support for inquiries and issues related to printers, computer systems, software, and hardware.
- Performs software and application installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Performs printer, copy machine, and scanner installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Preforms end-user support using remote tools, allowing remote support for all MWG offices.
- Installs, configures, and upgrades desktop computers, network hardware, and software as needed.
- Installs equipment for new hires and moves or reconfigures existing equipment assignments.
- Maintains appropriate records and documentation as defined by HIPAA, PCI, and MWG Policies.
- Maintains all work and tasks inside of the department's ticketing system.
- Travels as needed to other local offices for installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Secondary duties include back-up for Network Administrator.
- Assist with training and conference room set-up.
- Perform other duties as assigned by IT Department Manager.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma required; Associates or bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of one-year experience in Information Technology or network administration
- Preferred but not required: 3 to 6 years of experience in Computer Sciences or Information Technology in insurance or HIPAA regulated environment
- Must have the ability to present findings and recommended solutions to the Security & Systems Administrator and audiences with varying backgrounds.
- Effective communicator (oral and written) and presentation skills.
- Experience in identifying system performance, develop analysis tools and methods to assess, simulate and predict overall system performance and reliability.
- Excellent computer, troubleshooting, and phone skills.
- Experience with Windows 10, and higher.
- Experience with MS Exchange 2016 and higher.
- Experience with Server 2016 and higher.
- Familiar with ShoreTel/Mitel or VOIP phone systems.
- Experience with MAC and other Apple products.
- Knowledge of Barracuda devices.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
