The Role
Morning Consult is looking to add two Field Project Coordinators to execute specialty tasks related to the scoping and fielding of research studies. This position will live as part of Morning Consult’s Analytics and Data Operations team, and is a new dedicated function at Morning Consult so comfort with some level of ambiguity is essential.
This role will involve scoping and pricing sample, designing quota structures, monitoring field work, performing QA and solving issues related to sampling and fielding as they arise. You will work alongside technical, research, sales and process-focused individuals to achieve these goals.
You’re a great fit for this role if you have strong attention to detail, the ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment, comfort with survey research—particularly field management and sample methodology—and creative problem-solving skills.
The Analytics And Data Operations Team At Morning Consult
The Analytics and Data Operations team is part of the Commercial Division at Morning Consult. We combine excellence in survey methodology with state-of-the-art data collection technology to deliver high-impact, quality intelligence at scale. Our team consists of experts in Survey Data Collection, Research Methodology and Marketing Science. We support the data collection for all custom and syndicated research products at Morning Consult, and advise internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of research methodology and analytics.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Partner with our Sales and Research Solutions groups to understand the audiences they need to collect data for and help consult on feasible sample frames for custom research studies
- Gather pricing for these audiences and ensure consistency in pricing across similar work
- Alongside internal Engineering/Tooling and Research Science partners, build fielding profiles and design quotas that target specific audiences, and collaborate with data operations staff to implement those profiles and quota designs
- Ensure studies launch and field according to schedule, serve as an escalation point for fielding issues related to assigned client project and engage in conversations with external panel partners for surveys that require managed partnership
- Apply various techniques to ensure the quality of data. This will include evaluating automated quality assurance reports, reviewing open-ended response data, crosstabulations and/or contingency tables and monitoring trends to identify concerning swings across key metrics for tracking studies
- Partner with Strategy team to identify the best methods to capture replacement interviews, report fraud incidents and work with suppliers to prevent similar issues in the future
About You And What You’ve Done
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Psychology, Economics, Sociology, Statistics, Data Science or similar; or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- At least one year of experience managing field and/or sample design for online data collection in a survey research context
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively prioritize between multiple responsibilities
- Knowledge of survey statistics (sampling theory, hypothesis testing, contingency tables)
- Familiarity with or exposure to using R or RStudio or similar platform (Excel, SAS, SPSS) for data analysis and functional programming
- Familiarity with survey collection software (Qualtrics, Forsta, Survey Monkey)
- Familiarity with working with survey data (weighting, cross-tabulation, significance testing)
- Willing to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvement

The expected salary range for this position is $57,800 - $88,800, with a midpoint of $73,300.
In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. This role is eligible for additional variable compensation and an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation.
