About the Role
As the Director, Web & Digital Strategy you will be responsible for the overall strategy for Morningstar’s B2B web experience and external-facing web properties, creating an optimal, compelling, and personalized audience-first experience. You will leverage data analytics, personalization strategies, analytic tools, and automation to help increase demand, while strengthening the positioning of our brand. This global role will manage and build a team comprised in the areas of UX/Web design, Web Architecture, Analytics, SEO & SEM to create a cohesive and connected experience, tailored to visitor profile. In the role of Director, Web & Digital Strategy, you will design data driven plans to deliver audience-centric paths to increase quality web traffic, lengthen visitor engagement, set test agendas to improve visitor-to-lead conversion, and define roadmaps to fully leverage our web technology stack.

Job Responsibilities
- Drive overall vision for Morningstar B2B web properties, defining, delivering, and owning objectives and key results.
- Leverage your breadth of experience to drive growth across Morningstar’s B2B portfolio and engage with cross-functional stakeholders to execute your vision.
- Lead a team of web developers, program managers and digital marketers to help drive the business digitally.
- Utilize strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to develop and execute a conversion rate optimization strategy focused on driving MQLs.
- Leverage A/B testing and personalization strategies to help drive better engagement on the website and experiences for our customers.
- Create a web roadmap for the year to show upcoming updates, projects and when they will be executed.
- Maintain a pulse on web activity by creating reporting benchmarks and dashboards, build in-depth reports on site performance, and effectively communicate insights and recommendations.
- Understand web architecture and make recommendations on improvements to optimize for both the user experience and performance.
- Lead development of our SEO strategies and continue growing our footprint in search engines.
- Work with internal teams and external agency to continue building new pages, experiences and web modules that can be implemented quickly and efficiently.
Qualifications
- 7 years of Web Strategy experience working with a high traffic and complex website.
- Breadth: You have hands-on experience in various disciplines of digital marketing (SEO, demand generation campaigns, thought leadership campaigns, editorials, product marketing, paid media, content/brand, etc.)
- Business mindset: Passion for testing and learning. it’s marketing – it’s okay to fail if we learn from it!
- Analytical: What does success look like? You know what to measure, how to measure, and distill data into insights from experiments. Strong data-driven approach and tenacity for problem solving.
- Technical proficiency: Ability to articulate website architecture requirements, writing functional specs and setting standards for site health and page performance.
- Experience with a CMS such as Contentstack and fluency with web management platforms and testing suites such as Google optimize, Crazyegg, ahrefs, and SEMRush, BrightEdge
- Strategic: You think beyond the short-term tactics and one-off projects to how we can build processes and programs that scale.
- Partner First: You build strong relationships across teams by listening and following through on your commitments. You understand we can go further, together, if everyone is working toward the same goal. You have the ability to articulate strategy, empower, and partner closely with cross-functional teams, being able to artfully manage stakeholder expectations and navigate through competing priorities.
