JOB SUMMARY
The Product Management Associate will own the implementation and work to deliver product development and introduction of products of assigned categories as directed by the Marketing Manager. This role will specifically drive assigned tasks supporting the product revenue stream from NPI (New Product Introductions), acquisition integration, and cross-selling of products across enterprise channels. This is a hands-on marketing team role critical to the growth of Morris. The work involves delivering products for commercialization, PIM (Product Information Management) data management, project management, packaging concept design, sales collateral development, marketing programs, and a technical understanding of the products in the assigned categories.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
· Work closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and manage product life-cycle and product roadmaps of assigned product categories.
· Construct business cases for revenue growth opportunities from new and existing products and markets as well as from cross-marketing and intercompany product integrations.
· Support the creation of highly profitable new revenue streams by project managing targeted NPI (new product introductions) and MGPP (multi-generational product planning) processes into existing and new business channels.
· Perform the research required for the development of product positioning and value propositions for assigned products.
· Maintain proper best in class PIM database capable of supporting DiversiTech and key customer e-commerce platforms.
· Work with Segment Managers to rationalize the overall product portfolio for the best ROI.
· Conduct competitive analysis, product & technology benchmarking and cost benchmarking as assigned.
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
· Proven experience in managing multiple projects from initial requirements gathering through product release and rollout.
· Strong excel, PIM, pricing, and marketing experience.
· Ability to work effectively with the sales force, Production Planners, contract factories, operations, and business leadership teams.
· Ability to establish and monitor metrics for the measurement of marketing program effectiveness.
· BA/BS Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related field or AAS with relevant industry experience.
· 4 years of product/project management experience
· Proven success and track record as an individual contributor in developing and introducing and marketing new products.
· High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction
· Excellent communications and presentation skills
· Electrical Supply industry knowledge preferred.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS
Working in a matrixed environment, the Product Manager will work closely with the Marketing Team, Production Planning, and Operations. The role will interface regularly with sales, sourcing, product marketing, sales operations, and customer service.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Smoke-free, professional office environment. The workstation may be in a high traffic area within a busy department. The standard workweek is 40 hours, with the ability to work overtime when needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to use hands and fingers to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. In addition, must have the ability to move freely throughout the facility without physical limitation, and the capacity to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs., and have the ability to bend, stoop and reach. Must have the ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
