Enrolled Agent - This is a 100% fully remote opportunity. May be based anywhere in the United States, must work 9am-5pm PST office hours- no exceptions.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Under minimal supervision responsible for performing tax functions including but not limited to contacting IRS and State agencies, developing, and submitting payment plan requests, preparing tax returns, and collaborating with legal staff for assigned clients.
Perform all work in accordance with federal and state regulations and guided by firm standard operating procedures and within the limits of established policies and service level agreements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- You will be responsible for contacting the IRS and States and submitting payment plan requests, first-time abatements, non-collectible status and working with administrative staff to secure any information needed from clients.
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff on assigned cases.
- Obtain and review financial documents to determine the best resolution for clients.
- Communicate with the IRS / State agencies to discuss matters and accomplish desired outcomes.
- Release levies on bank accounts and wages.
- Negotiate installment agreements, partial pay, offer in compromise, and other available solutions.
- Finalize resolutions and close out cases daily using our customer relationship management platform.
- Conduct client calls and meetings to facilitate the exchange of information and documentation to support service delivery.
- Responsible for accurate, efficient, and timely completion of Individual, Corporate, and Partnership tax return preparation of assigned clients.
- Compute taxes owed ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
- Advise clients on their tax planning and tax situations.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Identify opportunities to expand the scope of services a client is using with the firm and engage internal partners to support expanding the client relationship.
- Maintain positive working relationship with clients.
- Capture all tasks and work performed in the firm's customer relationship management system.
- Capture and accurately enter data into the firm's tax preparation software.
- Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines.
- Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
- Remains current in profession and industry trends.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
QUALIFICATIONS : EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have an active and valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- Must have active Enrolled Agent (EA) license.
- Must have active valid Centralized Authorization File (CAF) number from IRS.
- Five (5) years of experience conducting negotiations with the IRS.
- Two (2) years of tax preparation experience with individual, partnership and corporate tax returns.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Read and interpret documents such as individual and business tax documents.
- Read and interpret Federal, State, and Local tax codes and regulations.
- Write routine reports and business correspondence and standard operating procedures.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
REASONING ABILITY
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES OR QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in tax resolution theories and concepts.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in tax preparation.
- Demonstrate effective negotiations and resolution expertise.
- Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
- Computer skills :
- Enter data into firm tax (Intuit) and CRM (Canopy) software and systems.
- Work and be proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining speed of work and attention to detail without loss to production.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and engage inter and intra department peers and firm staff.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
