To fulfill this mission, the Foundation acts as a grantmaker, innovator, and convener. LTFF supports the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystems in Tulsa through its programs including Mother Road Market, Kitchen 66, Shops at Mother Road Market, and Tulsa Market District, as well as through grants to organizations including 36 Degrees North, Tulsa Area United Way Social Innovation Grants, i2E, SCORE, Sustainable Tulsa, T-Town Tacos and many more.

The Lobeck Taylor Operating Foundation (LTOF) is an operating foundation funded by the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation (LTFF). LTOF programs include Mother Road Market, Kitchen 66, Shops at Mother Road Market, and Tulsa Startup Series. LTFF performs complementary grantmaking work to LTOF’s programs, which increase economic activity and the equitable growth and development of 11th Street between Xanthus Ave. and Birmingham Ave. and surrounding neighborhoods in Tulsa.

The Manager on Duty is a non-exempt, hourly position. The hourly range is $15/hr and will report to the Market Manager of Mother Road Market.

The Manager On Duty (MOD) is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of Mother Road Market. This position is essential in building a positive, supportive and fun environment for our employees while ensuring a top-notch customer experience. MOD ensures that the hourly staff is adequately assigned to roles for proper coverage and that all tasks are performed effectively and in a timely manner. MOD is the first point of contact for our staff and guests as issues arise, and they are responsible for calmly addressing issues quickly and thoroughly. MOD communicates with the staff, food merchants and upper management to ensure that staff fulfill their duties and that the guests' experience is a great one.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must exhibit excellent customer service at all times, including during peak hours with high volume.
  • This position is the face of Mother Road Market and must make the guest experience the top priority. This includes, but is not limited to, aiding the staff to fulfill their roles when needed, checking-in with guests to ensure their experience is a great one, and communicating with staff, food merchants and upper management to ensure that operations are running efficiently.
  • Ensure that all shifts run smoothly by making certain that the staff is present and able to perform their duties and that all opening and closing tasks are completed.
  • Ensure the culture and standards of both LTFF and MRM are held, and have coaching and training sessions with employees when the standards are not met.
  • Cover for staff members while they are on break.
  • Responsible for knowing and adhering to food handling standards and company safety and cleaning protocols, keeping highest standards to clean and sanitize hands, work station and high-touch surfaces.
  • Responsible for following social distancing guidelines while working and properly wearing all parts of the assigned uniform as instructed.
  • Responsible for safe handling of alcohol items from the WEL Bar and adhering to all ABLE rules and regulations.
  • An ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to multitask, follow directions and be able to work effectively on a team.
  • Must be punctual, reliable and willing to jump in and help wherever needed.
  • Must be self-sufficient and capable of problem solving.
  • Responsible for start of day and end of day cash register and POS report reconciliations.
  • Must be able to perform register transactions quickly and efficiently to support the WEL Bar, Info Booth, and/or General Store as needed during peak hours and to facilitate breaks for our staff.
  • The MOD is responsible for opening and closing the space effectively. MOD is the first point of contact for our staff throughout the shift and they are responsible for checking staff out prior to allowing them to leave for the day.
  • Distribute mail to merchants and LTFF staff; log and track all packages delivered to the info booth.
  • Responsible for keeping track of lost and found items, and distributing them back to their owners when possible.
  • Enforce policies, including but not limited to, uniforms, attendance tracking, staff relations, schedule changes, Roadie checklist completion, personal conduct and communicating violations of policy to the Market Manager.
  • Ensure the continued safety of both the patrons and the staff by completing incident reports, coordinating with onsite security, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Work closely with the Events and Hospitality Manager to execute to a high level of excellence onsite events and facilitate and schedule reservations for smaller parties in the market, working to ensure a top notch experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to traverse a large space quickly, navigating through doors and on stairs while items related to role.
  • Must have weekend availability
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
  • 1-3 years of restaurant experience, preferred.
  • Required to work night and weekend shifts and some holiday hours as well.
  • Previous management experience is preferred, not required.
  • Previous experience in customer service, food service, point of sale systems or other related fields.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Tulsa Health Department Food Handler Permit, required.
  • ABLE License and proof of ACE training, required.
  • Due to ABLE regulations, this position must be 21 years or older to perform necessary job functions.
