Summary of Position: Motion Control Corporation is seeking Panel Builders to build UL-508a industrial control panels to GM or Ford specifications. Panel build is typically undertaken at MCC's facility in Livonia, MI. Full time position with opportunity for growth. This position offers full benefits. Day shift. Overtime likely.
Responsibilities:
- Minimum 2 years panel build experience
- Lay out and mount components to subpanels and enclosures;
- label and wire components, connectors and cordsets per design.
- Ability to read prints, wiring diagrams, drawings and build to them
- Safely construct and wire electrical cabinets using hand and power tools
- Be self-motivated and work independently, meeting deadlines for task completion.
- Report hours per job daily.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant machine wiring / panel build experience.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and personal car insurance.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical prints.
- Candidates must be competent in the safe use of hand tools and power tools used for panel build including wire cutters, strippers and crimpers, screw drivers, drills, taps, knockouts, jig saws, threading machines, and band saws.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders without restriction and ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Desired Qualifications:
- Show good computer skills, proficient with wire and component labelling software and printers/plotters, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to access vendor information via the internet.
- Being self-directed and experience at completing tasks on time.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Experience wiring small single door through multi-door control enclosures containing VFD's, PLC's, HMI's, air conditioners, DC and AC components, pilot devices, terminal blocks, disconnects, fuses, and duct.
