POSITION SUMMARY:  A Logistics Associate performs receiving, packing, shipping, and inventory movement tasks.  Performs functions to assist in the day-to-day efficiency of production, focusing on product/material handling and movement.  Promote a high standard of quality and on-time delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Opens containers and prepares packing material using box cutters or other hand tools.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from boxes, trays, carts, and shelves by hand.
  • Assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Ships product both domestically and internationally using UPS world ship, FedEx and other freight carriers.
  • Troubleshoots shipping issues and customer issues that pop up regularly; works to solve these administrative or organizational problems to increase shipping and receiving efficiency.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers.
  • Lifts moderately heavy objects by hand.
  • Cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags and cleaning compounds.
  • Responsible for rotation, inventory, warehouse stocking, and sanitation.
  • Ensure stock is shelves are neat and orderly.
  • Assist in conducting weekly cycle inventory counts.
  • Receives all incoming material and enters information into ERP system.
  • Reports inventory shortages.
  • Picks work in progress job orders.
  • Other duties as assigned to promote optimal customer satisfaction.



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Shipping and Receiving experience in a manufacturing and production industry is a must.
  • Must have great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to details required.
  • Quality oriented.
  • Good computer skills – Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE   

High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) to four (4) years’ experience in a related role or equivalent combination of related education and experience.  

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.  The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.  The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and talk or hear.

 

The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

 

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.  Overtime may be required during busy times and must be approved by the Manager, before working.
