You lead others by example You are committed to exceptional operations and service You are an outgoing self-starter who puts systems in place to meet established targets You have a passion for making Chicago a better place to visit, live and move around If the answer is yes, we have an excellent career opportunity for you!   Motivate LLC seeks an energized, experienced Director for our Bike Fleet Operations to ensure that Divvy is a best-in-class bike share system and Chicago’s favorite ride. The Director of Bike Fleet Operations will oversee all aspects of assembly, maintenance, and repair for Chicago’s bike share fleet. About the Role Ensure that bike inspection and repair goals are met for both depot and field teams Oversee the collection and utilization of failure and repair data to achieve continuous improvement in fleet reliability and cost-efficiency; develop systems to predict and prevent common bike failures through design and operational changes Ensure efficiency of the repair process to effectively triage bike repairs to maximize shop throughput and take advantage of different mechanic skill levels and capacities Manage an inventory system for bicycle parts; work directly with supply chain managers to ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner for bike fleet production Lead a team of supervisory staff to oversee all depot and bike mechanics for the full employee lifecycle: select and hire, oversee training, conduct regular and periodic staff feedback; recognize and engage employees; administer coaching and corrective actions; manage employee resignations/terminations Follow safe work practices to create and maintain a safe working environment About You You are a leader of leaders: prior experience in operations, leading/overseeing a management team; focusing on their alignment, engagement, development, and performance; as well as ensuring supervisory staff provide the same focus for the bike fleet depot and field teams You are results oriented: strong decision-making skills and an ability to solve complex problems with creative solutions and analyze complex data and processes You execute efficiently: implement lean production processes and inventory management You communicate effectively: strong written and verbal communication skills to a wide variety of audiences You are technology proficient: Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and google suite; SQL, database and data visualization skills preferred About Motivate LLC   We are the premier micromobility service operations and infrastructure experts, delivering bikeshare operations management services to many of the nation’s largest cities.
