Job Description

Play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of mission critical field activities and optimizing efficiency by utilizing academic principles gained in educational courses in a dynamic professional setting.

Demonstrate an aptitude for Networking and / or Cybersecurity

Provide technical support on specialized telecommunications systems and public safety product applications.

Maintain and document complex communications systems.

Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.

Develop solutions to difficult technical problems encountered as part of system maintenance, upgrades or support issues.

Continuous training in the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.

Preferred Candidate Knowledge / Experience :

Desire to pursue a certification in Security , Network , CCNA, or NRS1

Knowledge of wired communications systems, such as local area networks (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN)

Desire to perform computer network installation, configuration, and maintenance systems to include cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.

Willingness to learn R.F. interfaces and systems such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.

Willingness to learn standard telephony, dedicated data circuits, and packet switching techniques and logging recording systems

During the Co-Op Program you will gain system experience with the following equipment :

Motorola Base Stations (STR series, GTR series, Quantar, etc.)

Consoles (Gold Elite, MCC7500, MCC7100)

Computer IP Networks and Configuration

Experience working with RF Infrastructure Technologies to include Motorola SmartZone, Smartnet, Console Systems, ASTRO Conventional and Trunked equipment is strongly preferred

The Co-Op will gain technical skills in the use of various communications test equipment including :

Communication System Analyzers

Ethernet Link test sets

Digital RF Power Meter

Motorola Conventional, SmartNet and MCC Console systems, Secure Operations and ASTRO A7.x - A20.x, Digital systems and installation procedures.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Basic Requirements

Must be a current student attending a 2 year program or a 4 year program at a college, university, or technical school

Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
