Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Staff Coordinator to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY: The staffing coordinator/assistant is responsible for managing the day-to-day census staffing in coordination with the manager and charge nurse, and for creating and managing the schedule for all Emergency department staff. Assist with other administrative tasks and responsibilities.

Duties And Responsibilities
Staff Coordinator – Emergency Services
- Oversee daily staffing to ensure safe patient loads while minimizing labor costs.
- Ensure appropriate staffing follow through to assure employees fulfill their FTEs
- Ensure accurate record keeping of staff on-call/low census logs.
- Monitor schedule for patients requiring additional labor considerations (Telemetry monitoring/ isolation/ 1:1 nursing/CNA needs.)
- Communicate with charge nurses to formulate daily staffing plan, including sick calls and under-staffing needs.
- Coordinate staffing/ labor costs/ census with Emergency manager.
- Fill shifts that are short with high census, sick call or other unforeseen staffing variances.
- Monitor and coordinate staff availability.
- Maintain working schedule for the Emergency department for all employees including nurses, CNAs, and PRN staff.
- Collaborate with the Emergency manager to oversee time off requests prior to scheduling.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
Experience: At the manager’s discretion, employees with less than two years’ experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this position.
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge. Excel experience. Demonstrates knowledge of current computer systems used in the organization.
