A new, first-of-its-kind dining, entertainment, and social experience located in Oak Brook, IL is set to open later this year. We are seeking a Front of the House Manager to manage the daily operations of the restaurant's dining room, including managing the restaurant's staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, and achieving financial objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and supervise all front of house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
- Hire, train, and develop staff to provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high level of professionalism.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and respect among staff members.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by monitoring customer feedback and resolving any issues or complaints.
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements to ensure maximum efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the restaurant's revenue and profitability.
- Monitor and control labor costs and other expenses to ensure profitability.
- Oversee the ordering and inventory of restaurant supplies and equipment, including front of house supplies such as menus, napkins, and tableware.
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional campaigns to attract new customers and increase repeat business.
- Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations and ensure that the restaurant is always clean and well-maintained.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or similar
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas, policies, and procedures to staff, customers, and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to recruit, train, and motivate staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and vendors.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine service and mixology
- Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including revenue, cost of goods sold, and labor costs.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality or related field preferred, but not required.
- Experience in project start-up environments is strongly recommended.

- Must pass company background screen and reference check.
- This position is operational, primarily dealing with Guests and Colleagues in the venue. Standing, walking, and working in an attractions venue environment for long periods is required.
