ROLE PURPOSE/ POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Representative is responsible for managing strategic and tactical HR activities within their area of responsibility. They support and assist human resources to provide generalist support to assigned sites or specific responsibilities. In addition to their support responsibilities, individuals may be assigned to various human resources initiatives and project teams. This role may function as a stand-alone human resources associate in a small operation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Activities
- Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
Tactical Activities
- Employee Relation and Engagement
- Serve as an advocate and counsel to hourly and exempt associates
- Drive initiatives/activities in support of site climate and culture
- Conduct internal investigations as needed
Compliance
- Effectively implement HR policies that comply with statutory regulations and are consistent with internal and external best practices
- Ensure compliance with all required regulations, policies, and laws related to Human Resources activities
- Ensure the administration of audit activities for compliance within HR policies and procedures
Growth
- Ensure management is trained in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment
- Provide feedback and coaching to managers, actively listen and ask searching clarifying questions in regards to associates
- Assist with staffing, succession planning and associate programs and processes
Continuity
- Understand concepts related to compensation and benefits systems, processes, and employee communications
Cyclical Activities
- Administration of our performance management process
QUALIFICATIONS/ CAPABILITY PROFILE
Minimum Education
- BS/BA degree in Human Resources or related field desired
- PHR/SPHR SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification desired
Minimum Experience
- 3 years of experience in HR with exposure to all major functional areas of HR required
- Previous experience partnering with senior management desired
Minimum Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
- Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency
