What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Receivables / Collections Specialist (Hybrid) position at MSI?

This position performs high volume customer collections, to ensure MSI receives payments from customers, and then records these transactions, accordingly. The AR & Collections Specialist will secure customer accounts by verifying and posting receipts and resolving any discrepancies.
We are requesting that all new employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, or to have a religious or medical accommodation. This position works a hybrid schedule, typically 3 days in the office and 2 days at home.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reconcile daily cash receipts via lockbox, ACH, and credit cards to customer invoices
- Communicate and follow up effectively with department regarding customer accounts on a timely basis
- Performs a high-volume phone calls to customers
- Provide excellent customer service regarding collection issues, customer refunds/adjustments and resolve client questions and discrepancies
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining customer accounts
- Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the collection process
- Weekly and monthly reporting to direct supervisor
- Sends monthly invoices, statements, and delinquency notices
- Processes monthly credit memos and appropriate reporting
- Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due
- Provide excellent and timely customer service to both internal and external customers
- Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Accounts Receivable Department
- Accountable for reducing delinquency surrounding customer accounts
Requirements/Preferences:
- 2 to 4 years of Accounts Receivable and Collections experience
- Experience with SAP Business One a plus
- Basic knowledge of billing and collections procedures
- Eager to learn and create efficiencies in day to day responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail, goal oriented, team player
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
