REGISTRAR - PER DIEM JOB SUMMARY The Registrar in accordance with Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital's Vision, Mission and Values pre-registers and registers patients presenting for services in the Outpatient Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION Primary duties involve follow-up appointment scheduling, patient registration, and other related functions. These duties are performed accurately and consistently, while maintaining an extremely high level of customer friendly satisfaction. Facilitates patient flow, including activities such as: patient identification, identification of accurate demographic and insurance information. Collection of required signatures and documents. Collects co-payments and other patient liabilities.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Educational Requirements High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred Licensure, Certification and Registration None Work Orientation and Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Other Requirements Specific to Assigned Area Minimum of one (1) year Outpatient Experience required. Physician Office experience preferred. Hospital registration experience preferred. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team and health system. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. Detail oriented. Organization and time management skills. Computer proficiency. Walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, sit and demonstrate manual dexterity.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Supervision Received Reports directly to Outpatient Manager Supervision Exercised None
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS Regular, direct contact with patients, caregivers, outpatient physicians and staff. And ancillary support staff.
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED Uses computer hardware and software, fax, and Xerox machines.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.
