What are the responsibilities and job description for the HEALTH FACILITIES SIGNAGE & WAYFINDING DESIGNER position at MU Health Care?
Provide graphic design services for wayfinding, internal and external signage needs.
Provide signage and communication support for all in-house and capital construction projects. Identify, interface with, and gather input from appropriate stakeholders.
Monitor projects to assure scope, time, and budget requirements are met.
Create and develop parking maps, wayfinding resources, and other content.
Design effective and innovative communication copy and materials, including new modes of electronic communication.
Evaluate signage requests and properly identify signage needs based on MU Health Care Signage Standards.
Assure projects remain on schedule throughout the course of design and construction. Provide advice, prepare, and monitor project schedules to assure project needs are met.
Interpret client questions and requests. Formulate responses through the project manager. Highlight key decisions for the project team in advance of deadlines. Provide briefings and reports that are accurate and contain appropriate detail. Coordinate communication with multiple entities related to assigned projects.
Manage and coordinate the project decision-making process and ensure team members are aware of any changes. Lead thorough and effective project coordination among internal and external participants.
Recommend material procurement, and supplemental services. Coordinate the work of outside vendors and consultants.
May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, public relations, communications, marketing or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Two (2) years of graphic design experience.
Experience using design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, or related design software packages.
Preferred Qualifications:
Four (4) years of graphic design experience.
Experience using Revit/3D software.
Experience in healthcare planning, design, and construction industry.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
