What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leasing Consultant position at Multi-Family?
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist prospective residents with property tours and provide information about available units
- Conduct background checks and verify rental history of potential tenants
- Prepare leasing agreements and ensure all required documents are completed accurately
- Collect and process rental payments from residents
- Respond to resident inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of leasing activities and resident interactions
- Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including conducting unit inspections
Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with prospective and current residents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals
- Knowledge of property leasing laws and regulations
- Proficient in data entry and record keeping
- Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs is a plus
- Experience using Yardi or similar property management software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to negotiate lease terms and resolve conflicts diplomatically
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
