Position Summary
The Director of Environmental Services directs the development, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive Environmental Services program(s) at multiple MultiCare locations/facilities to assure highly reliable and safe programs are maintained in matrixed teams across assigned areas within the healthcare system. The Director ensures policies, standard operating procedures and protocols are developed and implemented in accordance with national, state, local, and Joint Commission requirements; serves as the system's subject matter expert; establishes strategies; key metrics, customer service excellence standards, and service level agreements; monitors program performance and performance improvement activities; ensures continual survey and regulatory readiness/compliance; establishes, directs and monitors strategic initiatives to ensure Environmental Services programs are operating and improving so interdependent business units can remain cost-effective, competitive and relevant to their market(s).Responsibilities
- Develops and implements environmental programs for multiple facilities/locations that meet key metrics, service level agreements and customer service standards
- Ensures policies, standards and operation procedures remain in accordance with national, state, local and Joint Commission requirements
- Ensures continual survey and regulatory readiness/compliance
- Serves as the subject matter expert on all environmental services matters
- Contributes to the development of budgets, tracks progress to align teams and plan for growth as needed
- Manages teams providing direction, training and performance reviews in keeping with MultiCare standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related curriculum; or four years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered
- Eight (8) years of experience in an environmental services leadership position with oversight in large single hospital or of multiple locations within a healthcare system
- Experience in regulatory compliance (e.g., Joint Commission, DOH), negotiating contracts, agreements, and partnerships based on financial and operational needs
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) or must obtain within first year of employment

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $88,771.00 - $127,745.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
