Job Description
Plans, supervises and assigns work to trades crews engaged in general vehicle repair maintenance.
25%: To perform inspection, assessment, and planning of vehicle preventative and demand maintenance needs. Provide assistance in the scheduling and referral of repairs needed to qualified vendors. Evaluate the work of vendors, both in progress and upon completion to ensure compliance with work orders, resolve deficiencies as needed. Produce a Quarterly Maintenance Status report detailing unscheduled fleet maintenance issues that arose during the previous quarter. Conduct on site maintenance or minor maintenance operations where appropriate
25%: Prepare and maintain a comprehensive maintenance database for allMUSC owned and leased vehicles . Records should include regularly assigned drivers, recent maintenance history, reported accident history, and cost analysis for various standard maintenance functions performed. Conduct license screening for all routinely assigned drivers of vehicles owned and/or operated by the enterprise.
20%: Maintain continuous vehicle safety liaison with MUSC departments and promote effective fleet safety program principles and internal accident reporting procedures. Respond to and investigate accidents upon notification. Arrange and supervise Federal Highway Administration post-accident procedures for CDL drivers. Act as point of contact between insurance companies and vehicle drivers/departments. Process and submit accident correspondence, track claims and collect reimbursement.
20%: Coordinate quarterly MUSC Accident Review Boards in accordance with policies set forth by the SC Department of Administration and State Fleet Management. Gather pertinent information from any vehicle accident or incident, and submit documentation to all responsible parties. Participate in all state-wide accident review boards. Provide training and remediation for all enterprise drivers, especially those involved in vehicle accidents. Conduct no less than 12 Defensive Driving Training Courses (8-hour) and no less than 12 Defensive Driving Refresher Courses (4-hour) for all enterprise drivers. Conduct additional trainings as needed.
10%: Perform minor fleet, support equipment, building, computer hardware and software maintenance repairs as needed. Complete all other tasks as assigned.
Additional Job Description
A high school diploma and three years trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Positions requires a commercial driver's license class B.
