The Musco Research and Development Team is currently seeking a Test Technician to work from our Oskaloosa office. This position will focus on the setup, conducting, and record product testing/research for Musco Engineering. What you will do as a Test Technician:
- Conducts tests of new components, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria established by standards or procedures; maintains accurate records of test results.
- Prepares test setups as directed by standards or procedures. Ensures that the setup meets the established specifications.
- Understands equipment under test, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her immediate supervisor.
- Performs periodic inspections of devices under test; maintains accurate records of the status and collects test data.
- Reports to the supervisor ongoing project status, completion time projections, and any problems that may have arisen during the testing.
- Interface with and perform or witness testing at outside test facilities as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
- Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technician Certification, or completion of Military Electronics training.
- 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience with EMC testing preferred.
- Advanced understanding of DMMs, oscilloscopes, and power supplies; understanding of RF measurement techniques and the use of various RF measurement instruments (specifically Spectrum Analyzers, EMI Receivers, Network Analyzers, Power Meters).
- Able to construct AC and DC circuits; experience soldering thru-hole and small surface mount components a plus.
- Able to accurately capture test data; able to use test software.
- Intermediate-level interpretation and analysis of test results.
- Able to troubleshoot and rework standard tests.
- Working knowledge of basic lab safety practices.
- Basic MS Office skills.
