Moore & Van Allen PLLC is a prominent business and litigation law firm with offices in the Carolinas. This full-time position, located in our Charlotte, NC office, with our Information Technology team will be responsible for the daily management of the network, including servers and connectivity. This role oversees Network Engineers, shares responsibility for Network Security, and manages network and server upgrade projects. The Network Manager provides assistance to other IT groups and end-users, stays current with the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques, monitors all servers and network devices, sets maintenance policies, and communicates downtime events to end-users. Additionally, the role includes documenting all aspects of network systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement network infrastructure designs to meet organizational needs, including planning, designing, and deploying network hardware, software, and services.
- Monitor and manage network performance, reliability, and security. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of network engineers and administrators. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure effective team performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, policies, and procedures. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure network equipment and services. Manage vendor relationships and oversee contract negotiations.
- Analyze network performance and usage trends. Plan for future network expansion and upgrades to accommodate growth and changes in technology.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for network systems. Ensure regular backups and test recovery procedures.
- Ensure network operations comply with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Meet periodically with the supervisor to discuss the status of requests, projects, etc.
- Coordinate with the IT Director on budget processes.
- Provide after-hours, holiday, and weekend work as needed.
- Regular and in-person attendance is required to perform essential functions of this interactive position.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or a combination of experience and education to perform the essential functions of the role required; College degree in computer science or relevant field experience preferred.
- 3-5 years of managing experience in a professional service environment required; 5-7 years experience in a law firm preferred.
- Certification in one or more server, network, cloud, and/or security infrastructures.
Physical Requirements:
- The work is primarily sedentary.
- It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
