MWH Constructors, an industry leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, is seeking a Recruiter to support the recruitment efforts nationwide for a variety of large municipal and industrial projects recently awarded.
The selected candidate will have prior experience recruiting a diverse applicant pool of construction professionals by marketing the Company as an employer of choice and will bring energy and enthusiasm to identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential candidates, including passive candidates.
This is a full-time, regular position, reporting directly to MWH’s Corporate Recruiting Manager, and will be based at one of our office locations in Broomfield, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Tigard, OR; Dallas, TX; or Plaistow, NH. This position does have the option of a hybrid work assignment.
Essential Functions
- Source and recruit a diverse pool of applicants using digital networks, print and electronic advertising, career fairs, networking, cold calling, college and university programs, community agencies, workforce centers, professional associations, employee referral programs, and search firms to build talent pipelines.
- Develop and implement targeted recruitment plans for openings which have unique requirements or are underutilized, and/or consist of multiple openings for the same position, clearly defining the tactics for sourcing, service and performance criteria, and timeline, and partnering with other team members to ensure a seamless flow of service to the hiring manager.
- Accountable for full life-cycle recruiting for each individual posting as assigned. Including consulting with the hiring manager on the specific requirements of the position, the duration and verbiage of the job posting, recruiting tactics, and coordinating with others as necessary to conduct assessment tests, provide an appropriate offer, and administer the recruitment/selection process. Accountable for delivering candidates and commitments per the timeline established with the hiring manager.
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure an accurate understanding of the job requirements and expectations; place and refresh recruiting ads to optimize candidate flow.
- Continually build strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers to ensure the recruitment needs of the project are being met.
- Create and maintain open communication and partnerships with internal customers to understand staffing needs while providing service to hiring managers and candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Utilize behavioral interviews and validated assessment tools to screen and identify qualified candidates and present to the hiring manager for consideration. Consult with hiring manager in making the final candidate selection.
- Utilize and leverage technology (applicant tracking system) and professional/social networking resources (i.e., LinkedIn, really, resume databases, job boards, etc.) to attract, identify, initiate contact, communicate with, and interview/screen possible candidates.
- Craft and send recruiting communications; promote consistent company brand to candidates and applicants.
- Facilitate the hiring process by ensuring interviews are coordinated and executed in an expedited manner and candidate feedback is circulated quickly.
- Focus on the recruitment experience of various stakeholders; ensure timely candidate review and related communications to both candidates and hiring managers.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with universities, professional associations, LinkedIn groups, etc. as sources to generate qualified applicants.
- Schedule and attend relevant career fairs.
Basic Qualifications
- Prior experience recruiting construction candidates, ideally those with heavy civil, mechanical, electrical and/or water/wastewater backgrounds.
- Minimum of four (4) years of recruiting experience; must possess a proven track record of successfully sourcing hard to find ‘passive’ candidates.
- Knowledge and experience working with electronic applicant tracking systems (ATS) and internet recruiting sources as well as MS Office Suite.
- Experience using creative sourcing methods including internet sourcing techniques, Boolean searches, referral management, and passive candidate outreach techniques.
- Knowledge of human resources evaluation methods, policies, practices, and procedures, including EEO and OFCCP compliance.
- Excellent customer service using verbal and written communication and conversation skills via phone, email and in-person.
- Ability to make daily phone calls to potential candidates to discuss career opportunities; ability to conduct phone interviews and take detailed notes that can be easily digested by the hiring team.
- Prior experience leveraging social media to effectively network, advertise and/or engage candidates.
- Ability to develop rapport and manage relationships with both potential candidates and hiring managers.
- Ability to think creatively and leverage technology to find and connect with passive candidates.
- Ability to occasionally work outside of normal business hours to conduct interviews, communicate with candidates, etc.
- Prior experience with surge recruiting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diversity recruiting experience preferred.
Compensation Range
- $85,000 - $105,000 depending on qualifications.
