Recruiter
Location: Portsmouth, VA (Corporate Office)
MYMIC is seeking an experienced Recruiter to leverage their talent acquisition knowledge to successfully execute the full life cycle recruiting process at all levels within the organization. As a Recruiter you will be responsible for identifying job candidates that possess a unique set of qualifications to support contracts with the Department of Defense (DoD) and other government agencies.
Job Duties:
- Establish recruiting requirements and priorities through meetings with hiring managers and company management.
- Develop position descriptions based upon meetings with the hiring manager and an analysis of the scope of work.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop an effective recruitment action plan to fill specific job openings within established timelines.
- Ensure position descriptions are posted to the MYMIC’s careers page and all necessary job boards (i.e. really, ClearanceJobs, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Proactively seek candidates through searches of multiple databases.
- Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring managers' interactions, and other recruiting activities
- Maintain a database/ contact list of all candidates contacted with a log of communication efforts and results.
- Reviews applications and resumes; Conducts screening calls with candidates to verify their qualifications, desired salary, availability, etc. against the labor category requirements.
- Coordinates interviews with the hiring manager and job candidates. This includes coordinating the availability for all parties and sending out Outlook meeting invites.
- Negotiates salaries and prepares offer letters for selected candidates.
- Ensures the smooth transition from candidate to MYMIC employee through effective communication with the job candidate and other MYMIC departments.
- Works with third party recruiting firms to source hard to find candidates and critical positions.
- Promotes, coordinates, attends and conducts Job Fair presentations.
- Conduct market research to assist in bid and proposal activities. This includes determining the available candidate pool and market rate salaries.
- Assist in other Human Resource related functions and other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to analyze position descriptions to develop key word searches to identify qualified candidates.
- Demonstrated success in recruiting candidates with active security clearances to meet the requirements of Government contracts.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Word, Excel
- Experience using job boards and social media to proactively source candidates (i.e. Monster, really, ClearanceJobs, LinkedIn)
- Effective Communication Skills (cold calls; well-spoken with good writing skills; writing sample may be required)
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
- Experienced with Applicant Tracking Systems (currently using Taleo)
- Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
- High energy, enthusiastic, creative, entrepreneurial, works well under pressure!
- Knowledge of OFCCP/ADA/EEOC hiring practices and procedures
Education/Experience:
Minimum of 2 years’ of experience in recruiting for field or related area (Government contractor experience preferred!). An Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Travel:
Some local travel within Hampton Roads and occasional travel to NOVA area may be required.
Physical Working Conditions:
Will require extended periods of sitting, viewing a computer screen, typing, use of a computer mouse, taking and making phone calls, exposure to office heating and air conditioning. Some lifting (less than 25 pounds), bending or stooping may also be required.
