- Understanding of the process modeling software Signavio and/or Visio
- Working knowledge of the mortgage process and general understanding of underwriting and servicing guidelines
- Working knowledge of different types of controls and the functions they serve as well as the ability to draft controls
- Demonstrated understanding of business operations, relevant processes and investor guidelines

Job Summary
As the Compliance Strategist, you will ensure the company adheres to legal standards, government regulations and in-house policies.
Responsibilities
- Implement compliance controls based on deficiencies found in the CMS
- Implement compliance controls required under interpretation of new laws and regulations
- Conduct root cause analysis, dig deep and create COPs surrounding a paradigm, issue or area
- Take root causes and identify the control deficiency, assessing the issue at hand defensibly
- Convey the relationship between variables (law vs. process vs. controls vs. monitoring) and variance with change
- Apply the knowledge of controls to enhance the effectiveness of the compliance management system
- Document all applicable records in the system of record and maintain updates to the records
- Integrate and account for compliance controls in process maps and precisely create BPMN process maps
