Overview: Throughout the course of this program, the intern will learn the ins and outs of content creation for Sporked, Mythical’s digital food publication. The intern will gain hands-on experience writing content, working within a CMS, and acting as the team reporter for anything Mythical—sitting in on GMM and MK episodes when required and translating that content into news-worthy articles for Sporked. The intern will also aid in editorial assistant responsibilities and ordering foods for taste tests—and take part in them, as well.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with Sporked team to learn about editorial production
- Write 2-5x articles per week (mix of GMM / MK episode adaptations, listicles, and news stories)
- Attend monthly pitch meetings
- Receive editorial guidance from Sporked editors on copy / pitches
- Administrative support of creative team
- Upload content into Sporked’s CMS (Wordpress)
- Aid in editorial assistant responsibilities, including food ordering and prep for taste tests and participating in taste tests
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited university
- Rising Junior and above
- Strong interest in writing and publications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Available 2 full work days per week
