POSITION SUMMARY:
In compliance with Federal Law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Working under general supervision and with moderate difficulty, this position is responsible for promoting programs designed to enhance the social, emotional, mental, and physical well-being of older adults.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans and designs social and recreation programs for the purpose of enriching the lives of older adults
- Conducts individual assessments of participants to determine which activities best meet the needs of each participant
- Assists Senior Centers with implementing and delivering program activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation
- Assists Senior Centers with the recruitment of volunteers to promote and conduct program activities to ensure that the needs of program participants are met
- Identifies training needs and conducts training of staff and volunteers to ensure program compliance and success
- Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with community partners to promote and assist in the development of program events
- Ensures program participation and appropriateness of activities
- Assists in identifying and creating metrics for the measurement of program success
- Develops and conducts participant surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of program delivery
- Completes and maintains records and reports on program activities to ensure accurate and reliable performance measurements
- Provides input to the Health and Wellness Program planning process to ensure a comprehensive approach to program delivery
- May supervise program volunteers

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma/GED; and at least six months experience in recreational activities, working with older adults and diverse populations, and acting as a community resource; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
