Position Purpose: Clinical Dietitian performs the functions of a specialized clinical nutrition service, such as nutrition assessment, nutrition education, nutrient intake analysis and patient screening to provide quality nutrition care to patients and families.
- Position Duties (not all inclusive):
- Interprets physician diet orders and modifies diet according to diet patterns and patient preferences
- Interviews patients assigned and document pertinent information on the appropriate nutrition documentation forms
- Instructs patients in diet principles and restrictions per physician diet order and documents pertinent information
- Provides substitutions if patient is unable to eat the meal provided, in accordance with diet restrictions
- Plans between-meal nourishments for patients as necessary
- Relates information on assigned patients to food production staff and Diet Aide. This information is documented on the patients nutrition profile in the computer
- Completes a nutritional assessment on patients receiving a tube feeding or parenteral nutrition

Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Licensed Dietitian by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
- Registered Dietitian certified by Commission on Dietetic Registration, by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Covid Vaccination or approved Exemption.
