What are the responsibilities and job description for the Robot Tech (Press), Days/7a-7p position at NAHAN PRINTING INC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read and understand job ticket.
- Complete OJT training with the robotics and continue to follow procedures.
- Set up and operate all auxiliary equipment with the focus being the robotics and all post press delivery systems.
- Troubleshoot computer and mechanical issues with reacting quickly in a very fast-paced environment.
- Assist with folder and help with make ready and startup.
- Monitor trims and perfs throughout run when used.
- Perform quality control of signatures off press (checking for hickeys, toning, crossovers, proper lap positions, etc)
- Communicate with next shift about status of job(s) and any special instructions.
- Complete all paperwork and use timekeeping system efficiently.
- Responsible to handle hazardous waste in a safe manner by following the safety procedures.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- Follow set team procedures and processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized area/department.
- Be cooperative, positive, and respectful with leaders, coworkers, and team.
- Ensure all safety policies are followed through and hold a high regard for the safety of others.
- Participate in proper ergonomic practices as designed for this position.
- Aggressively seek out opportunities for company and self-improvement.
- Schedule all outside activities around work schedule when possible and work overtime as needed.
- Responsible for informing leader of any concerns that arise.
- Participate and support continuous improvement activities and suggest CIP ideas.
- Participate in 6S/Lean manufacturing initiative.
- Complete all required MDI charts.
- Read and understand profit center reports and suggest ideas for improvement.
- Meet or exceed actual vs. plan run and make-ready goals of 100%.
- Participate in and suggest Kaizen events that could benefit your cost center.
- Understand and use TPM (total productive maintenance) and QCO (quick change over) methods.
- Attend and participate in team meetings.
- Complete other tasks as requested by Leader/Shift Leader.
