Nancy the Girl is a vintage store located in White River Junction, VT and we are looking to hire a store manager to begin no later than July 1st, 2023. We are female-owned and specialize in being an inclusive, empowering, and most of all, a fun shopping destination, both locally and online!
The ideal candidate has a love of vintage fashion, a background in retail management or equivalent managerial positions and is a great leader. The Store Manager shall oversee the day-to-day responsibilities related to the operation of both the brick & mortar and the online store, while also developing the business by driving sales & increasing employee efficiency.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties
Employee management
- Recruit, hire, & train new employees
- Supervise, direct, & evaluate all store employees
- Manage employee scheduling & time off approvals
- Review & approve payroll in Gusto
Administrative & store management
- Maintain store cleanliness & appearance, including keeping the displays fresh
- Schedule private events, inventory buys, & staff meetings
- Co-manage & organize private events
- Allocate time between managerial duties & assisting with sales duties as needed
- Manage & regularly update Google Calendar & Google Drive
- Review & analyze store analytics, provide suggestions based on analytics
- Manage ordering of store supplies
Inventory
- Assist the owner with inventory buys
- Switch out seasonal inventory
- Manage the processing of new inventory, steaming, measuring, and data upload
- Manage online inventory
Customer service
- Store email monitoring & management
- Cultivate relationships with customers including practicing empathy and sensitivity around individuals’ needs & insecurities when shopping
- Answer customers’ or sellers’ questions
- Resolve customer service issues with a high level of professionalism and respect
Marketing
- Manage Instagram account (new merchandise posts, stories)
- Determine creative ways to drive sales
- Manage store marketing budget
- Maintain & update bi-weekly product highlights in the online store
Hours
- Tuesday-Saturday; 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, additional 5 hours to be scheduled & agreed upon between manager & owner
- Manager is required to be present for special events & to cover shifts if an employee is unable to come in
Requirements
- Prior retail experience
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Comfort working with colleagues and clientele of diverse backgrounds, sexual orientation, gender, race, ethnicity, and body types
- Comfort with social media (Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok)
Preferred But Not Required
- Associate degree or higher
- Simple mending skills (adding buttons, mending small tears, adding hook-and-eyes)
- Ability to create engaging social media posts and content on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
