What are the responsibilities and job description for the FOH Restaurant Staff **290/Cypress position at Nara Thai?
We are currently looking for front of house staff to join our Cypress team!
This Nara Thai location is located off of Highway 290 and Skinner Rd.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure with cooks, food expediters and other staff. Previous work experience involving customer service in a fast-paced environment is greatly desired.
Server Responsibilities:
- Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
- Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner.
- Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
- Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Collect payments from tables.
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
- Help food preparation staff when necessary.
- Opening and closing duties.
- Assist with to-go orders when needed.
Food Expeditor Responsibilities:
- Ensuring communication in the kitchen by calling out orders, getting the status on dishes, and calling the waitstaff to serve completed dishes.
- Informing the waitstaff when certain dishes or ingredients have run out and passing food requests from the waitstaff to the kitchen.
- Monitoring the food portions on completed dishes according to restaurant standards.
- Ensuring that all orders are completed in time and with the correct priority.
- Inspecting the cleanliness, presentation, and temperature of completed dishes.
- Performing the finishing touches to completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges.
- Keeping the cooking, storage, and prep areas clean, neat, and well-stocked.
- Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety standards.
- Assisting all staff as needed.
- Handling customer complaints on behalf of the kitchen staff and looking for solutions.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $150.00 - $200.00 per day
