What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director, National & State Campaigns position at NARAL Pro-Choice America?
About NARAL Pro-Choice America
For more than 50 years, NARAL Pro-Choice America and its chapters have fought to protect and expand reproductive freedom —including access to abortion and contraception — for every body. We are powered by our more than 2.5 million members from every state and congressional district in the country, representing the 7 in 10 Americans who believe every person should have the freedom to make the best decision for themselves about if, when, and how to raise a family.
As the oldest and largest national membership organization primarily focused on advocating for abortion access, we organize and mobilize, galvanizing millions of people to take action to defend reproductive freedom, and shining a spotlight of accountability on bad actors who work to impose their ideological agenda on others. We also work to elect champions for reproductive freedom and advance state and federal legislation to safeguard it.
About the role:
The Senior Director, National & State Campaigns is a senior level manager, departmental head, and serves as a deputy to the Chief Campaigns & Advocacy Officer. The Sr. Director will collaborate across the organization’s leadership team on strategy and coalition building, and have overall operational responsibility to develop strategies to advance NARAL's organizational priorities, including by coordinating the legislative, political, communications, digital, and organizing components of federal and state legislative and administrative advocacy campaigns.
The Sr. Director will be a thought leader and a key part of the programmatic leadership team that drives organizational strategy, innovation, and cohesion and represents NARAL at regional and national levels. Using political, legislative, field, and digital components, the Senior Director, National & State Campaigns will maintain and grow NARAL’s political power with innovative, member-centered campaigns and strategies.
