At NASK, we’re growing, building great teams, and doing exciting work – we’re seeking a passionate and driven Technical Writer to join our Colorado office, supporting our mission-critical programs. The candidate will be responsible for documentation requirements, reports, brochures, manuals, and training material documentation for systems that are in continuous development and integration (CI/CD, “DevOps”) at customer sites. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with software and systems engineering teams with a high level of technical acuity. The candidate needs to be well organized and proficient at keeping on schedule for critical program deliverables.
Technical Writer Responsibilities:
NASK is seeking a motivated candidate to fulfill this full-time and onsite role in our Aurora facility. This role is best suited for an individual who is organized, self-motivated, and independent. The ideal candidate will enjoy independently gathering information from subject matter experts to create, organize, and refine technical specifications, interface control documents, and system data flow documentation. You will develop documentation that contains a consistent and cohesive voice and will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. You will write and edit technical documentation for all of the project's hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and how-to documentation. You will provide expert oversight of technical writing and editing to all phases of acquisition and technical documentation for the program, project, or contract.
Required Qualifications:
  • must be willing to take a poly
  • Minimum of 5 years technical writing experience
  • Previous experience documenting system specifications and interfaces
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe, and Excel.
  • Experience developing and maintaining web-based content in Confluence
  • Ability to translate technical information from a subject matter expert into technical documentation that is clear and concise
  • Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to work in a mission-focused environment
  • Classification knowledge for documents, diagrams, technical reports, and presentations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field (or additional 2-4 years of on-the-job experience substituted in place of degree)
  • Experience working with small software development teams.
  • Experience working with teams maintaining complex SIGINT processing systems
  • Experience supporting proposal development and working with Business Development and Engineering teams.
