Salary Range $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
Shift: 40 hour work week; Monday through Friday
Work Location: In Person

Overview of the Role:
 The Loan Servicing Specialist ensures that Real Estate and Consumer Lending policies and procedures are adhered to, providing the best service to the credit union and its members. Responsible for managing all aspects of the credit union’s Loan Servicing department to achieve quality growth in the portfolio and to maximize profitability from loan interest and fee income. Manages the day-to-day operation of the Loan Servicing department. Ensures that the credit union complies with state and federal lending laws. 
 
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  •  Ensure to deliver service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with the credit union’s Service Promises. 
  • Efficiently respond/resolve questions, comment, and concerns from Members and other departments.
  • Responsible for the loan boarding process.
  • Ensure accurate payment processing and proper tax and insurance setup.
  • Reconciliation of delinquent property/school/village taxes and Forced Placed Insurance.
  • Review Real Estate files for completeness, verification of proper documents to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines (including, but not limited to HMDA, Homeowners Insurance deductibles, Proof of Income).
  • Assist in processing and completing Real Estate funding packages. (Including but not limited to verification of Homeowners Insurance, Title Policy and dialogue with the closing attorney).
  •  Assist in providing feedback and follow-up on Real Estate loan disbursements, including but not limited to loan settlements and any applicable refunds, to ensure file is complete and within the department’s turnaround time standards.
  • Responsible for filing Member and Credit Union documents on a timely basis as required and assist in the scanning of all Credit Union documents as assigned. 
  • Responsible for the quality of all scanned documents. 
  • Assist in the creation and maintaining of scanning and FDI Lien filing procedures.
  • Maintain PC database on outstanding Member Certificates of Title. 
  •  Handle all daily reports including FDI Lien filing errors. 
  • Generate letters to Members with outstanding titles using this database. 
  • Contact Members on an as-needed basis to retrieve proper documentation and to ensure timely processing of all lien filing errors. 
  • Liaison for all DMV contact in filing liens.
  • Validate 1098 reporting.
  • Manage payoffs and satisfactions.
  • Assist members with GAP and Debt Protection claims.
  • Assist in maintaining Loan Servicing department guidelines and procedures.
  • Gather required materials for regulatory examinations and internal audit .
  • Manage quality control process.
  • Responsible for HMDA data integrity and reporting for HMDA/ECOA compliance.
  • Remain current with regards to legal, regulatory, economic, & internal changes to our product and services to constantly provide the most effective feedback to co-workers & Members.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers to complete projects as assigned.
  • Achieve Sales and Service assigned goals for the department and the organization.
  • BSA/AML compliance (and compliance with the Office of Foreign Assets Control) is the responsibility of all employees throughout the organization.  This is achieved through annual training, reporting compliance issues to the attention of the Compliance Officer, and keeping aware of regulatory requirements.
 
Credentials, Experience, and Skills:
 Minimum of 3 years related experience in operations, servicing, and/or compliance.
  • Strong understanding of FNMA and FHLMC origination and servicing guideline, products, and documentation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Epysis and Meridian Link systems is desirable.
  • Goal-oriented, ability to thrive and be resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
