Position: One-to-One Classroom Aide

Location: Shreveport, LA

School: Shreveport Christian Academy

Hours: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Compensation: The hourly pay rate for this position is based on the candidate's level of experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive pay range of $15 to $20 per hour.

Job Description: We seek a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a One-to-One Aide in a 5th-grade classroom. This position involves providing academic and executive functioning support to a student who requires one-on-one assistance in the classroom. The One-to-One Aide will be responsible for helping the student stay on task, complete assignments, and develop essential executive functioning skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact a young student's educational journey within a nurturing Christian environment.

Responsibilities:

● Work closely with the student to ensure they remain on task and focused during classroom activities.

● Provide academic support, including assistance with assignments and classroom materials.

● Foster executive functioning skills, such as organization, time management, and self-regulation.

● Collaborate with the classroom teacher to develop and implement strategies to support the student's educational progress.

● Maintain a positive and nurturing environment that aligns with the Christian values of our academy.

● Communicate regularly with the student's family to provide updates on progress and share insights.

Qualifications:

● Previous experience in education, tutoring, or working with children in a one-to-one setting is preferred.

● A strong commitment to our Christian values and creating a Christ-centered learning environment.

● Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a positive rapport with students.

● Strong organizational and time management skills.

● Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
