NCSC is looking for an experienced Manager, Advancement Giving to join our Advancement team. The Manager, Advancement Giving is a professional level fundraising role within the NCSC's Advancement Office. The Manager, Advancement Giving has primary responsibility for engaging, identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding existing and prospective law firms. This role is also responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing the relationships and fund-raising activities and events for the NCSC’s law firm affinity group that contributes directly to the NCSC’s annual fundraising goals. Regional event planning will also be an important component of this position.

  • Demonstrates conduct that upholds the basic Core Values of NCSC 
  • Identifies and researches new prospect opportunities for Lawyers Committee, Young Lawyers Committee and Individual Giving, writes and coordinates initial outreach and fundraising appeals
  • Executes plan for retention and growth for all committees. Works closely with Manager to execute programing and engagement activities that will lead to incase engagement, value for members, retention, and growth
  • Cultivates relationships with prospective and current donors to increase giving, engagement, outreach and renewals
  • Responsible for overseeing and processing donations, acknowledgment letters, and stewardship letters 
  • Participates in developing programming by the Advancement Team to engage members with NCSC initiatives for Lawyers Committee and is responsible for the execution of this programing
  • Under the direction of the Director of Advancement, leads in the project management and execution of a suite of high visibility meetings and events for donors and VIPs which includes volunteer engagement, event logistics, preparation of communication materials, on-site coordination of events, and management of follow-up 
  • Prepares and adheres to an annual plan for solicitation and communications incorporating appeals through direct mail, electronic solicitations and website 
  • Reviews and analyzes data to provide improved outreach and overall fundraising success
  • Manages and coordinates the annual staff giving program to include email appeals and personal welcome to new employees to educate regarding the employee giving initiative
  • Supports the Director of Advancement with the development and implementation of a legacy giving program
  • Makes direct asks for support and will have fundraising goals for new donations and renewal rates
  • Leads in gathering data for annual report
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in development/fundraising, marketing or public relations working with executive level officials in a court or corporate environment including private and non-profit entities
  • Experience using Raiser’s Edge or other development/CRM software, preferred
  • Ability to travel, as needed, throughout the United States
Additional Skills & Abilities 
  • Ability to develop and prepare correspondences, quantitative and narrative reports, and to effectively communicate verbally with internal and external colleagues and constituents.
  • Adept at using interpersonal skills to determine donor interests, and use various techniques to help fulfill those interests and drive investment in NCSC
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both orally and written
  • Ability to work with diverse audiences
  • Excellent time management and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize work and effectively manage schedules
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using or knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software or a similar data base system is preferred
  • Experience or familiarity with the legal community, preferred 
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and methodologies, preferred

The annual starting salary for this role is between $68,640 - $86,000, factors which affect starting pay within the range include education, experience, and other qualifications as it relates to the position.
