The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for assisting with management of the daily Human Resource activities and the administration of human resource policies, procedures, and programs for NCCN and the NCCN Foundation.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers various human resource programs; assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual
- Administers benefit programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, to include open enrollment, change reporting, invoice approvals, communication of benefit information to employees, and COBRA processing
- Completes FMLA leave processing and tracking
- Acts as resource to managers on employee relations and performance improvement plans
- Participates in recruitments, resume screening, interviews and new employee orientations
- Assists with preparation of various reporting, i.e. ESR, EEO, Form 5500, and others as needed
- Develops job descriptions with managers and ensures descriptions are up to date
- Maintains knowledge of legal and government reporting requirements to ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
- Administration of interim and annual performance reviews
- Assists with payroll processing
- Assists Vice President with new initiatives, special projects, and other related duties
Requirements
EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent related work experience
- 5 years' Human Resource experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Paylocity Payroll/HCM system required
- Health care and non-profit experience preferred
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of principles and practices of HR administration
- Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
- Absolute attention to detail
- Strong understanding of employee relations, recruiting, benefits, performance and talent management functions
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with compensation data and sensitive HR matters
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Organizational ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
