What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Manager position at National Energy & Light?
Reporting to the President of NEL, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for the successful operation of the warehouse and satellite locations. This individual must be a hands-on leader and foster a positive and productive team environment to ensure the efficiency and acccuracy of the receipt, disposition, and storage of all materials.
Responsibilities:
- Directs the shipping, receiving and logistics of warehouse operations
- Supervises, teaches, develops and mentors team members regarding policy, procedures, warehouse operations, including forklift driving certifications, equipment, processes, and technical knowledge of warehouse systems
- Identifies and coordinates space allocations as needed in a fluid environment to reduce unnecessary movement of materials to other facilities
- Maintains an organized, clean, and safe warehouse
- Coordinates and manages the transfer process for the timely movement of materials among warehouse and storage facilities
- Works to reduce freight costs, claims, and mis-shipments
- Implements inventory control measures and cycle counting
- Guarantees precision, general warehouse maintenance and productivity level
- Evaluates daily shipment schedules while strategizing and prioritizing a daily work schedule to meet company and customer delivery requirements
- Manages warehouse employees to ensure that company procedures and policies are followed and issues disciplinary action on an as needed basis
- Ensures that all warehouse operations are conducted in a way that adheres to all Divisional and Corporate Safety Policies
- Maintains all standards within the warehouse (Safety, OSHA and Hazmat)
Experience:
- 6 years’ of warehouse experience in a supervisory and/or management role
- Strong, positive management and leadership skills
- Experience managing logistics for multiple warehouse/satellite locations
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must know warehouse operations, policies, procedures and regulations, and materials handling
- Knowledge of Safety, OSHA, and Hazmat rules and regulations
- Competent computer skills, particularly Excel
- Ability to multi-task
- Physical ability to work in a warehouse environment
