Summary:  

The Director of Quality and Process Assurance is responsible for managing the quality assurance function, including software testing and test automation, and for overseeing the processes and procedures required to assure the quality of the software solutions NISC delivers to its Members.  The Director is a member of a cross-functional team of peers responsible to oversee execution of an enterprise strategy and to effectively align and manage resources accordingly.  The Director reports to the Vice President of Quality and Process Assurance. 

Essential Duties:  

  • Drive functional excellence for quality assurance function:  
  • Oversee the design, implementation and validation of all software testing processes and procedures 
  • Work with division leadership to see that all preparation, testing, documentation, and release communication is completed with each release.  
  • Work with managers and teams to make sure release timetables and quality standards are met. 
  • Work with managers to measure and monitor releases, so that they are on time, and meet or exceed expectations 
  • Ensure communication of release details and schedules to Members and across the organization 
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, scheduling, and quality. 
  • Drive an effective product life cycle process, collaborating with peers across the enterprise to establish and continuously improve processes for the design, development, release and implementation of software solutions  
  • Translate enterprise strategy to the functional level and oversee development and execution of operational plans to achieve both short- and long-term strategic initiatives.  
  • Participate with peers as a full member of the business team, maintaining an enterprise focus in all decision making and strong relationships with the Director team 
  • Proactively and regularly engage peer network to optimize cross departmental and divisional operations. 
  • Effectively manage boundaries and resources between assigned departments and among other functions within the organization to enable staff to effectively execute operational plans. 
  • Manage and oversee budget for assigned area and cooperate with peers to ensure effective management of enterprise budget and resources. 
  • Establish and effective structure for the function and build the function by cultivating a high level of disciplinary competence among staff members   
  • Coach and hold accountable direct reports to ensure effective performance and timely attainment of goals. 
  • Take responsibility for developing leadership talent within assigned functions and across the enterprise. 
  • Act as a servant leader and consistently demonstrate NISC’s Shared Values. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred: 

  • 10 years of leadership or supervisory role experience within area of discipline preferred. 
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism, ethical behavior, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position. 

Education Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
