Description
Position Summary
This position has responsibility in functions related to the Quality laboratory function. The person fulfilling this role will lead and direct the vision of the Quality Laboratory. The primary goal is to ensure that customer product specifications are met on each order place through verification sampling and testing.
Responsibilities
Quality
1. Evaluates all raw material, batch and finished good samples per specification
2. Conducts magnet pull strength tests as prescribed by policy
3. Responsible for retaining samples as required by customer
4. Responsible for ensuring laboratory is properly stocked with supplies to perform work
5. Performs incoming, work-in- process testing and finished product testing in compliance with customer profile
6. Ensures accuracy and complete of certificates of analysis
7. Maintains the calibration and verification of all laboratory equipment
8. Able to perform preventative maintenance on all laboratory equipment and troubleshoot where applicable
9. Adheres to Good Laboratory Practices
10. Maintains a clean and well organized laboratory
11. Perform all necessary consistency studies to verify product meets specification across a batch or a run
12. Responsible for updating the laboratory procedures
13. Actively involved in the third party audit process and preparation
14. Provide samples to outside labs with appropriate testing requirements. Be the liaison between our outside lab and Pac Moore
15. Verify that all tests meet specification for the products in question. If a product doesn’t meet its specification work with the appropriate parties to resample, place on hold, reject and remake, or whatever is necessary to keep the product from shipping.
16. Maintain records of all tests perform.
17. Verifies that returned outside lab results are compliant with customer expectation
18. If a product result does not meet specifications, make sure product is handled appropriately for the issue. This would include reject, place on hold, quarantine etc. as necessary.
Requirements
· Strong communication both oral and written: ability to obtain required results while maintaining positive working relationships with individuals and departments
· Good Leadership skills
· Able to balance multiple priorities and change direction while completing tasks accurately and in a timely manner
· Works on a flexible schedule as needed
· Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
· Demonstrates working knowledge of Food Safety Compliance Standards
· Proficient computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
· Ability to stand for long periods of time and work within a production environment
